Establishment of the National Food Authority – Albania

The objective of this contract is to improve the food safety system in Albania. Specific objectives:

• Establish a National Food Authority as an efficient structure able to provide independent scientific, technical, legal and policy advise as well as deliver adequate information to Government, consumers and food producers;
• Develop the institutional and legal basis for an effective protection of the consumer;
• Contribute to the approximation of national legislation with the acquis communautaire in the field of food safety;
